TAMPA, Florida - Affari Edge, a local full-service advertising agency, has partnered with Cosmic Waves Production, a production house specializing in audio and video, for this July's 48 Hour Film Project.

"We are very excited about this opportunity to be part of such a dynamic competition," said Wendy Robbins, a partner of both Affari Edge and Cosmic Waves Production. "We try to cross promote Affari and Cosmic whenever possible. The 48 Hour Film Project will be a great way to do so and have some fun, too."

The 48 Hour Film Project is a localized competition that tours cities around the country throughout the year. The tour will make its way to Tampa - St. Petersburg for the weekend of July 18-20. During the 48 hour competition, each team must produce a short film no longer than seven minutes. In addition to the time limit, teams are given a random genre, a character, a prop and a line of dialogue that they must incorporate into the film. These elements will be announced at 7pm on Friday, July 18.

Affari Edge and Cosmic Waves Production have brought on some local talent and production experts to help with the project. "It's going to be a hectic weekend so we'll use all of the extra hands we can get," said Nick Ferry, an account manager at Affari Edge.

All Tampa - St. Petersburg films must be completed and turned in by Sunday the 20th at 7:30pm to be eligible for the competition. The local winner from each city will receive a trophy and go on to the international competition. The local showing will take place at Channelside Cinemas Wednesday July 23 beginning at 6:30pm with ticket sales opening at 6pm.
