The 2009 Armenia Chronicles: 4/10/08
So it’s Thursday, April 10 and we’re “officially” in our new office. None of the walls have paint, the furniture is piled in the back room and the floors all slope to my left. Whenever I need to find a stapler, some cat-5 cables or the coffee maker, I find myself fumbling through boxes in the nook that will eventually be our breakroom.
It’s not all bad, though. We have a cozy setup the includes a few desks in the front room where we all work. We have the basics of a working office, yet, it doesn’t really seem like an office. Wires everywhere, folder boxes stacked to the ceiling and random, hanging whiteboards have become the norm here while we finish up the construction.
It’s kind of fun working in the same room with the rest of the crew. It makes for a lot of great conversation and stirs up plenty of great jokes. There’s a great Cuban place three lots over that we’ve been to nearly every day. Great food, great people and highly convenient. If you’re ever in West Tampa around lunch time, stop by Castillo’s on Armenia.
We’re supposed to have the foundation repaired in the next few weeks, which I am especially happy about. Constantly rolling left has tempted me to take the wheels off of this roller chair. Once that is finished, we are going to drywall the entire interior. Hopefully we will have these two jobs complete by June.
There are many more interesting design projects coming in the future. We are looking into flooring, custom shelving and even a custom conference table. So far ideas for the table include a fish tank and a custom game table.
Lots more to come. The word that keeps getting thrown around here lately is: Potential. We’re all really excited to see this place in 6 months from now. Check back for another update soon!
