HLS Provides Data Protection and Peace of Mind:
Biometric 384-Bit Encryption Mouse and USB Drives
Provide Maximum Security Available on the Market Today
ORLANDO, Florida - Almost daily we hear news reports putting people at risk of having their private data made public: a laptop computer stolen from the apartment of a tax auditor in Glens Falls, New York; a laptop taken from a home in Will County, Illinois; and an external hard drive taken from a Department of Veteran's Affairs office in Birmingham, Alabama. The private data on these computers are could easily make people vulnerable to identity theft.
That is why experts have been warning people to protect their data, not just their computers. The HLS BioFlash devices will do just that. The HLS BioFlash Mouse or USB Drive can be used as a verification tool to lockdown a computer and deny access to unauthorized individuals. Additionally, the mouse or flash drive can be used to create a hidden, encrypted partition on a hard drive, undetectable by other users who will not see any change in available disk space, thus protecting data from prying eyes. Even if a thief steals the computer, the data will still be virtually impossible to access.
"The HLS BioFlash Mouse and USB Drives are instant and inexpensive solutions to prevent unauthorized access and identity theft," said Carrie Herrmann, Managing Partner at Data Securities, an exclusive distributor of the mouse and flash drives. "It would take a bank of Cray supercomputers 12 years to decrypt data that has been encrypted by this mouse."
These devices are the first to combine biometric authentication in the form of a fingerprint sensor with 384-bit encryption, providing the highest level of encryption available on the market today. Furthermore, the fingerprint sensor on the HLS BioDrive mouse and flash drives use a capacitance reader, so a live beating fingerprint is required - an important advantage over systems that can be tricked with a digital scan.
"These devices are a large step to guarding your personal information", added Herrmann. "Just using them with my computers gives me the reassurance that I am doing all I can to protect my identity. That is why the President's Identity Theft Task Force's interim recommendations include using biometrics to authenticate the identities of individuals."
Based in Orlando, Data Securities is a consortium of entrepreneurs who have joined forces to distribute the HLS BioFlash Mouse and Flash Drives and other advanced information security products. The HLS Mouse, which retails for $119 each, and the drives, which retail at $179 for 1 GB and $389 for 2 GB of memory, will only be available directly from HLS exclusive distributors and will not be available in stores.
